Brother Rees Barber is a spring 2015 initiate of the Wichita (KS) Alumni (Middle Western) Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. We are glad that Brother Barber selected the Richardson-Plano (TX) Alumni (South Western) Chapter when he relocated with his silhouette (Monique) and children to the Plano area.
Brother Barber earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a concentration in Journalism and a Masters degree in Management of Information Security from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.
Brother Barber was a football star at running back for 4 years at Friends University. He also was writer and editor for the school newspaper.
Brother Barber is currently a Security Systems Engineer and holds several IT Security certifications. Brother Barber has always had a passion for teaching and mentoring and volunteers at his church, One Community, at the Boys and Girls Club, and local elementary schools, assisting youth with reading and writing, to aid youth in reaching higher in their educational goals.
Brother Barber currently serves on the Reclamation Committee for the chapter.
Brother Barber enjoys writing in his spare time, but most of that time is spent with his Shallotte Monique, son Eden (9), twin sons: Ma’Rees and Malik (7), and daughter Riley (3).
