The Richardson-Plano (TX) Alumni Chapter (RPA) officially launched the Grey for Jada campaign in July but suspended the campaign to observe a 30 day period of mourning from June 28th through July 28th for Dallas (TX) Alumni Chapter Brother William L. Gray, a Fall ’66 initiate of the Langston University, Alpha Pi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi (OK). RPA will do something special soon in the memory of Brother William Gray, beloved husband, father, and Good Brother.
The two most well-known awareness ribbons are; the red ribbon in support of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS); and the pink ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness.
The grey ribbon represents brain cancer the cause of Brother Jada Morrow (1/1/1985 – 5/24/2018) entering chapter invisible at the age of 33. For the entire month of August, RPA will recognize the grey ribbon in support of the Grey for Jada campaign in memory of Brother Jada a Fall ’04 initiate of the University of North Texas, Zeta Upsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi (TX).
RPA hosted Silhouette Kenya Morrow at the Frisco Embassy Suites Hotel and invited her during that stay to our July chapter meeting. Suspending the meeting we pledged our continued support by announcing a savings plan to assist with the higher education expenses of Brother Jada’s children, Isaiah and Ariyah.
